The Yggdrasil V, "Yggdurandal"
Following the destruction of the original Yggdrasil at the hands of U-TIC's 44th Frontier Fleet, the surviving Crew members were scattered to the furthest corners of the multiverse. For a time, it seemed as though the infamous Yggdrasil Space Pirates had been crushed once and for all. Even Captain Crim El Furaga, a man known to be tenacious to the point of absurdity, appeared to have vanished without a trace.
However, this was deemed to be an unacceptable turn of events and as such, fate rejected it outright. Crim's self-imposed exile/pity party was subsequently cut short thanks to the timely intervention of various yahoos from his own Crew, multiverse-hopping trannies, whacked-out wizards, and gross space-bugs. They all descended upon the backwoods planet that he had taken refuge on, and proceeded to wreak all kinds of havoc.
It was just the kick in the ass he needed to get himself back in the game.
Following a series of bizarre and potentially brain-scarring events that need not be recounted here, Crim managed to do overcome his own limits, and broke free from the metaphorical chains that had been keeping him down for so long. And with that, numerous memories that had previously been locked deep within him came rushing back.
Numerous fail-safe systems had been activated upon the destruction of the Yggdrasil. In essence, the fail-safes ensured that vital components of the ship remained intact, by utilizing Dimensional Transfer technology to send said components to a predetermined "safe zone", where they would be kept under guard until Crim came to retrieve them.
That safe zone was none other than his "home town" of Shevat, which existed in a closed-off sub-dimension within the interdimensional medium, totally closed off to all but those who knew of the correct access path.
His arrival in Shevat turned out just as he had expected. The people there, cursed to live forever in a timeless haze, treated him like their long-lost prodigal son. All who resided in Shevat had long since succumbed to this. All save for one: Queen Zephyr. She alone retained awareness, albeit as conscious-data residing within an incredibly advanced ancient supercomputer known as the SOL-9000 (fun fact: was once occupied by the Gazel Ministry! What a story, Mark!).
The D-Transfer System had succeeded in transferring the Yggdrasil's Main Bridge, Main Data-core ("Razael's Tree"), and its Zohar Emulator, along with numerous other odds and ends such as various weapons and Mobile Units. But that alone wouldn't be enough to get things back on track. He needed something else, something big. Fortunately, the memories that he had recently unlocked included an interesting bit of information regarding a certain ship. An ancient ship, older than even the Yggdrasil was. Older than Shevat itself. A remnant from a time that predated his own genesis (fuckin' weird shit, man).
He discovered the ship's location in Shevat's Archives. Right around that time, he was joined by several members of his Crew aboard the Lohengrin Class ship that had been fabricated from the remains of the Yggdrasil's hull. With the location of the new ship now known, it was a simple matter for them to just go and get it.
Or so they thought. Unfortunately, plans rarely worked out quite so easily. Upon arriving at the facility that housed the ship, they discovered that it had come to be infested by Wels - former humans turned into vicious, foul creatures by U-TIC's twisted experiments. Although in this case, the Wels had actually been created by U-TIC's predecessor, Shin-Ra, Inc.
Through a small stroke of luck, the facility had not deteriorated too far, and better still, the inner sanctum remained fully intact and active. All they needed to do was purge the Wels and turn on the power. Sure, easier said than done, but hardly a difficult task for the intrepid Captain and his crewmates.
Finally, they reached the innermost area of the facility. All they had been able to get was backup power, so illumination was restricted to dull red-tinted emergency lights. They came before a set of colossal doors, with a single golden plaque attached to the front, which read as follows:
"Peace to all who come here. Fearing great calamity, we sealed this legacy, entrusting its fate to you."
Upon reading what was written aloud, the facility suddenly came to life. The doors opened, and a bright white light washed over them all.
There it was, in pristine condition, as though no time had passed at all. A truly immense, deep-crimson behemoth known as the Durandal.
Henceforth, known as the Yggdrasil V, "Yggdurandal".
Sleek and stylish in appearance, it was designed to be 100% self-sustaining. It is very much akin to a mobile city, but even though it is massive, it maintains a surprising amount of mobility and agility. The Yggdrasil V dwarfs the original Yggdrasil in not only size, but also firepower, by several orders of magnitude. While the original Yggdrasil was capable of destroying a planet on its own, this ship is capable of unleashing destruction on a galactic scale.
The Yggdrasil V has been activated, and appropriately retrofitted with the vital components that used to be part of the original Yggdrasil. Furthermore, the remaining eleven Zohar Emulators were discovered to have been in stasis within the sealed ship, along with twelve mysterious mobile units known as "E.S.'s". Further investigation is required on this front, but with the addition of the Zohar Emulator from the original Yggdrasil, the Yggdrasil V's main weapon was unlocked, which increased the ship's destructive power to unimaginable levels.

Weapons, Defenses and Other Systems
"Gatekeeper" Dimensional Gate: A technological marvel from a long-forgotten era. This is the only "Gatekeeper" not under the direct control of U-TIC. While the technology itself is not 100% understood, the principle behind it remains simple enough. In essence, it draws energy from a higher dimension and converts it into stable forms that can be utilized in various ways. Mainly used to meet the tremendous energy requirements for the Hyper-Gate MkII trans-dimensional driver, but there is more than enough left over to be used for numerous other purposes as required.
"Razael's Tree" Main Data Core: The ancient supercomputer that was once housed in the Yggdrasil. Prior to that, it was part of the Colony Ship, Eldridge. Now it serves as the backbone of the Yggdrasil V's mainframe. It is impossible to hack into Razael's Tree through conventional methods, largely due to the fact that it is not networked like a normal system. Furthermore, since being combined with the Yggdrasil V's default computer core, it has gained additional safeguards, including an advanced AI suite that acts as an administrator of sorts.
Yggdrasil Main Bridge: The bridge which was once part of the Yggdrasil now serves the same purpose aboard the Yggdrasil V. It looks a little bit out of place, both inside and out, but the nostalgic appeal is worth it. Plus, there is an actual purpose behind this addition, which remains to be seen.
Durandal Class Graviton-Ether Warp Core: An upgrade from the advanced Gravitic Warp Core that the original Ygg used. Enables FTL speeds through normal space that are well in excess of anything the previous Ygg was capable of.
Hyper-Gate Drive: Powered by the "Gatekeeper", this is what allows the Ygg V to jump between dimensions. The process is easier than ever before.
Zohar Emulator Slave Reactors: While the original Ygg maintained a single Emulator, which was used to power its "Nimrod" Ether Cannon, the Ygg V is outfitted with twelve Emulators. Thus, the Nimrod is no longer a simple high-yield Ether cannon. The power granted by the twelve Emulators, working in harmony is truly astonishing.
Huge Materia Core Generators: Not as powerful as the "Gatekeeper" or Zohar Emulators, but still pack a mighty wallop regardless. Each section of the Ygg V has its own Huge Materia Core Generator (part of the various grid redundancies that aid in the event of power failures and the like). The eight main Huge Materia Core Generators, located in the main engineering section, produce Materia orbs, which can then be utilized by the Crew. The eight main generators are powerful enough to provide backup power for the entire ship for a prolonged period of time (up to a week, in theory), but cannot produce enough energy to fire the Nimrod MkII or the Metatron MkII. Also, interdimensional travel is out of the question, obviously.
HE-Nuclear Fusion Reactors: "Hyper-Efficient" Nuclear Fusion. The final backup plan, so to speak. Main impulse engines are fueled directly by individual reactors (again, system redundancy). Clean and safe, the chances of meltdowns are nil. Good for emergency power in a pinch, but only enough to maintain vital systems such as life-support and sub-light engines.
Sensors: The Ygg V is equipped with state-of-the-art scanning systems, including all of the standard fare such as sonar, radar and whatever else is common to most vessels. It also possesses numerous features that are considered "unique".
Panoramic Deflector Array: Utilizing the latest technology to keep pesky particles at bay while travelling at high speeds. Also filters out bad vibes and other such nonsense. Dispels harmful Ether waves and disrupts Psionic attacks.
E-Territory Generator: Generates a tremendously powerful Ether Field that guards against both physical and energy-based attacks. An extremely effective method for mitigating all sorts of damage that is very difficult to bypass.
Space-Time Displacement Shield Generator: The second layer of defense, should the E-Field fail. This shield is arguably even more effective than the E-Field, since it absorbs all impacts, physical or otherwise, and shunts them off into another dimension. The power requirements for this are quite large, however, so it cannot be used indefinitely. Constantly modulates at random frequencies, making it highly effective against trans-dimensional and probability-altering assaults.
Nano-Plating: The main hull of ship is made of highly durable materials which are further augmented by a layer of energized nanomachines which absorb a certain amount of damage on contact. The nanomachines are further integrated into the ships defense as a countermeasure for potentially harmful pathogens, chemicals and other such things, by essentially swarming and deconstructing them on a sub-molecular scale, generally rendering it all inert and harmless.
EMP Shielding: Advanced protection against harmful EMP attacks.
Radiation Shielding: Pretty self-explanatory, don't ya think?
Emulator Beam Energy Transfer System: A method to transfer power to friendly units (mecha, fighters, etc) via energy waves. Can recharge depleted energy levels in an instant, and even repair damage to vital systems.
Linear Catapults: Situated in the colossal Gear Hangar of the Ygg V. Used to launch mecha and fighters at high speed.
Dimensional Transfer Systems: An advanced and intricate system of transporters that enable instant transportation between two points via wormholes. The applications of this system are vast. Individual crew members are able to access the systems at virtually any time, as long as the Ygg V is in range. The current effective range of the system is around fifty million kilometers.
The system is also integrated into the interior defense grid of the ship. Essentially, any unwelcome guest is immediately tracked and transported off on a one-way trip to another dimension. Usually into the center of a black hole or something fun like that.
Ultra Tesla Drive Modules: Advanced anti-gravity flight system, which aids in atmospheric flight. Can hold the ship aloft indefinitely.
Hilbert Wave Emitter: Able to generate a large-scale Hilbert Effect, which is useful for dealing with intangible targets, by forcing them to exist in a stable physical state. Also cancels most any type of cloaking technology.
Superdreadnaught Class Ether Amplification Engine: Functions in the same manner as a Geardam's Ether Engine, but on a much larger scale. Can also be coupled with the Ether Engine of certain Gears/Geardams, for an ever greater amount of power. Multiple individuals can utilize the system simultaneously as well, which enables unique and powerful attacks/defenses to be utilized.
"Nimrod MkII" Omni-Dimensional Cannon: A potentially galaxy-ending weapon. Utilizes numerous particles all at once (drawn from random alternate dimensions, in some cases, coming into contact with dimensions that are possessed of wildly different physical constants) to produce what essentially amounts to catastrophic probability-altering effects. At full power, utilizing all twelve Zohar Emulators, it is likely impossible to fully defend against this weapon. But it also has yet to be tested, so who knows. Thus far, it's only been fired once, with just one Emulator activated, which produced an identical effect to the Nimrod Ether Cannon of the original Yggdrasil. The original weapon was capable of destroying an entire planet in one shot.
"Metatron MkII" Tri-Module Cannon: An extremely powerful weapon that houses a Graviton Particle Cannon, Creation Energy Cannon, and Positron Beam Cannon. Primarily used to destroy large enemy vessels and heavily defended bases, due to the inherent properties of the weapon making it ideal for tearing through shields and the like.
"Etrenank" Giga AERODs: The dual orbital wings that float around the ship are actually a set of gigantic AERODs (Animum Ether Response Offensive Drones). The wings split apart into a total of ten (five each) "feathers", which are then guided remotely to launch deadly multi-vector attacks. Furthermore, each feather section is outfitted with countless numbers of normal-sized AERODs, which typically act as a defensive grid of sorts for the larger sections, honing in on and overwhelming smaller attackers that attempt to get in close.
Crim is the only person known to be capable of operating this system to its full capacity without any assistance from advanced AI systems. The maximum number of individual enemy units that the system can target simultaneously is unknown, but estimated to be somewhere between ten and twenty million.
"Ignas" Hyper Blaster Array: An advanced omnidirectional weapons platform that covers almost the entirety of the ship. Capable of firing incredibly powerful directed energy beams in any direction. Each beam is, at maximum output, capable of utterly destroying an enemy warship in a single shot. A few blasts focused together can destroy a moon in short order. Thousands of beams can be fired simultaneously in any given direction.
"Zeboim" Trans-Dimensional Torpedo Launchers: Hundreds of torpedo ports located at strategic points around the ship. Trans-dimensional torpedos are capable of inflicting massive amounts of direct physical damage due to their ability to bypass conventional shielding. They are modulated at various frequencies over random intervals, which make them incredibly difficult to track and defend against.
"Gungany" Missile Launchers: A last-resort weapon that you don't want to fuck around with under any circumstances.
