The dungeon floor felt cool on the face of Josh Meliden, the leader of the Black Sun Pirates. It roused him from his sleep as he sat up and shook his head. His eyes scanned the dark room, but it didn’t hinder his Ether Sight which meant he could make out the four others that moaned and groaned in the corners. The pirate captain thought back to what put him in this situation as he sat against the wall of the cell…

(Theme - The Black Sun)
The door to the bridge opened and Josh entered the giant room on board his ship, The Black Sun. It was a sight to behold for the man, never thinking he would have anything beyond a modest ship, and now he had his own little pirate crew. It took a lot for him to keep his eyes from tearing up, but he continued to enter as he looked around the semi-bare room. He didn’t see a reason to have a full crew for the bridge right now, as he didn’t think there would be any problems for a bit. Nobody even knew this ship was in space, save for the Aesir Empire. And even then, it was really only Aeon Ergo that knew. So, he sat in his Captain’s Chair as he thought of his next move.
The younger Meliden, though he looked considerably older due to his actions on Vestusio, Vaughn entered in through a side door, and he could feel the uneasiness his ancestor emanated. He walked up to Josh and plopped a datapad into the ninja’s lap. It had the information for a planet on it, and the ninja looked down at it as he grumpily asks, “What is this?”
Vaughn smirked as he tapped on it. “It’s information on one of the planets Commander Ergo gave us. Could be something good down there. Why not check it out?”
Josh looked up at Vaughn, then back down to the datapad. Seemed to be a rather underdeveloped planet. But, Vaughn was right about one thing. There could be something if he searches hard enough. “Hmmm...Veteria, eh? Hmmm...locals seem to be beast men types...Wonder if I could fit in there...Eh, why not? Gibbs!”
A lowly pirate down on one of the control panels suddenly yelled back, “AYE SIR?!”
“Set course for Veteria!”
“AYE SIR!”
--------------------------
It was about days worth of a trip, and Josh prepared for his trek down. He worked on his appearance, standing in front of a mirror and shifting his Ether body to appear more beastlike and hairy, and worked on keeping his concentration so the appearance remained. He scared some of his crew while he walked through the ship, cause he had forgotten to shift back as he made his way to Vaughn’s lab. The technological wizard had found a way to set up the room to his exact specifications even though he couldn’t see a damn thing. Of course, he likely used some of the men around the ship to help him move things, but Josh couldn’t figure out why Vaughn chose not to get implants. Vaughn’s excuse of “Because it’s better that way” just didn’t jive with the older ninja, but he knew better than to argue with his descendant. But, without a sound (even from the door), the blind tech still knew when the ninja entered his room.
“Ah. Good. I was hoping you’d stop by. I have something for you.”
The younger, yet older looking, pirate walked over to a table on the far end of the long room, which was filled with tables covered in scrap and other mechanical knick knacks. He grabbed an item and brought it over to the ninja.
“I know you have your teleporting and kunai, but in the off-chance something happens to your ability to flash, I made you a wrist-mounted grappling hook.” He pointed out the machinations of the device as he explained. “By placing specific pressure here with your middle and ring finger, you can eject the hook. By removing the ring finger, the wire mechanism will lock, and removing the middle finger will instantly pull you towards the hook. You can also use the hook to bring down weakened walls, as the bullet shaped head opens when it penetrates a wall. Once the wire is back far enough, the hook returns to the original bullet shape. You got all that?”
He handed it over to Josh and the ninja had a real quizzical look. Vaughn was not all that good when it came to explaining things, and the new Captain had a fairly simplistic view of the world. The scientist took the Captain’s silence that he didn’t understand, and so he went through it again...and again...Eventually, Josh caught on and practiced using the tool just as a call came through the comm systems of the ship.
“Cap’n, we’ve arrived to our destination.”
With how the ship functioned, Josh was able to respond quickly merely by the ship recognizing his vocal patterns and sending his reply back to the bridge.
“Understood. Be there shortly.”
He looked down to Vaughn. “You coming with me?”
The young tech shook his head and smiled. “Really? With all the work you’ve been doing to blend in, I’d stick out like the sorest of all thumbs. Nah, you go down and we’ll keep in touch through the yPhone. I’m working on a new device that we should be able to use that will be able to mingle with the Ygg’s comms so we can keep in touch, but so we can really be our own group. Anyway…” Vaughn turned around and headed towards his computer, “I’ll be here if you need me. Have fun down there.”
Josh smirked and headed for the teleporter room, which was only a few meters from the lab in the bottom of the ship. He entered and the man behind the controls perked up. “Aye Cap’n!” The man let a salute. “At ease, soldier. We’re not the marines. We’re a pirate crew. No need to be that formal. Hahaha!” The man slumped down a bit and smiled as Josh walked towards the platform that would send him to the planet. “What’s your name, pirate?” “Ah, uh, Smithery, uh, sir.” “Smitty! Excellent! I panged you for a Smitty! Alright then! BEAM ME DOWN, SMITTY!”
Smithery took slight exception to that, and decided he’d be a bit of a dick. When he decided where to drop his Captain, he chose the inside of a tavern in the nearest big city. He was actually worried, after all, he’d heard about all the exploits Josh had on Gaea. But it would be a great little way to pay him back for the new nickname.
And so when Josh suddenly appeared...he was literally floating above a table in the middle of a tavern...filled with seven foot tall, ripped, muscular beastmen. And the ninja came crashing down. A giant ruckus happened which involved everyone in the tavern brawling with one another, and through the noise of it all the faint cry of ”whyyyy meee!?” could be heard if one perked his ears up enough.

~Present Time~
And that was how Josh found his way into the cell he was currently in. The ninja didn’t have the time to make sure he was ready and thus was found out immediately and captured. It was a good thing, though, because he was able to look around and noticed the other people locked up were also normal humans like him. Well, more like fur-less beastmen. Their faces and hands still had the beastial qualities to them, but they were obviously treated as lesser class citizens. Josh figured it was time to bust out and he would help them as well...until he attempted to upheave the metal bars with a small earthquake and nothing happened.
The ninja’s brow furrowed as he brought his hands together in a sign, fore and middle fingers held up with the rest of his hands clasped together, and he concentrated hard on building up his Ether. He then thought about a fire cast on the bars, figuring he could melt them if he could just get a flame going, and still nothing. “Well now...that’s not working for some reason...guess I gotta bide my time…”
As soon as he finished his sentence, the sound of metal scraping on concrete could be heard followed by the tapping of feet. A group of four soldiers in red armor led by a man dressed in deep crimson walked down the hallway towards Josh’s cell. Two of the mooks dragged a body as they moved, and obvious commander unlocked the door to Josh’s cell while the first two guards entered the cell and stared at the ninja. They were armed with spears and had claymore’s sheathed at their sides, but with their body size the sword’s looked almost like playthings to them. The pair in back tossed the body into the cell, and before Josh could get a good look at the guy, the guards barked at him to stand up.
“Yeesh...fine...I’m coming, I’m coming...just not too hard…”
The shinobi snickered at his own joke, but the guards weren’t having it as the one on the right smacked Josh in the nose with the shaft of his spear. “Move it.”
“Jesus, fine...fucking buzzkills…”
He stood quickly and moved to the hallway. The four guards took point with Josh in the center and the commander moved to the front as they walked in the same direction they had initially come from. The large iron door in front of Josh was still open, but all he could see was a blinding white light until he got outside...
