Race: "Ildera"- Also commonly called an Azurite or Azure Child for their unique hair color and feature, Ildera are actually considered a type of mutation of Agnari born from mating with a Vyssin or another Ildera. However, despite this fact, there isn't much physiological difference between them except for their radiant blue hair that generates a mystical glow from specks of ethereal crystals coming off of each strand before harmlessly dissolving in the air. They don't possess the same kind of monstrous physical strength that all Vyssin have and their DNA is surprisingly identical to the Agnari species. Meanwhile, to further elaborate, Agnari are the genetic precursors of Humans found in the Omniverse. This would mean someone like Dias would essentially be labelled as a Human by said civilizations outside of Narria. However, Humans are more of a degraded version. All Agnari started off at the beginning with pale skin and no hair. Their genetics are highly active, designed to adapt swiftly to their environment and change based on the kind of things they eat and drink. Evolving as needed. These Proto-Humans lack impurities, never having suffered such things as cancer and with immune systems capable of reinventing to produce immunity to disease. Most cures for sicknesses that plague Humans could be obtained from Dias' own blood, his body constantly working to manufacture such to keep him healthy in whatever environment he's in. The Agnari life span is also well over double that of the average Human. Ancient Agnari physiology developed melanocyte cells to produce melanin to darken their skin as needed for protection for those who traveled outside of Narria to other worlds, a trait gradually passed on to Humans. The wide range of food only found growing in Narria resulted in greater variety of melanin being produced, commonly seeing Agnari with purple or even green hair. And while there were those who had blue hair as well, Ildera were the only ones with the enchanting trait of it vibrantly glowing.

Main Class: "Fighter"- A warrior who has learned the basics of all combat styles. Every Fighter can swing an Axe or Sword, smash with a Hammer or Mace, strike with a Flail or Whip, throw a Javelin or Knife and even shoot with a Bow or Firearm with a certain degree of practiced skill. Likewise, they are adept and experienced with the use of Shields and every form of Armor (Light, Medium and Heavy) without suffering from a loss of balance or combat effectiveness.
Class Archetype: "Blade Master"- Weapon Specialist, one who has mastered the intricate design, proper handling and the advanced combat styles that can be adapted and applied to any bladed weapon type; Swords, Axes, Spears, Pikes, Halberds, Scythes, Daggers, Knives, Chakram, Glaives, Kunai, Katars, Shuriken, etc. This expertise also grants a keen eye for detail in such weapons and the manner in which they were forged by simply examining their craftsmanship. The Blade Master possesses a high level of finesse, physical aptitude and mental acuity.
Prestige Class: "Spirit Warrior"- An expert on all things supernatural, possessing a natural aptitude for dealing with metaphysical entities and sensing the presence of spiritual forces. These rare to find warriors have trained to harness the power within and with the skills required to protect against and destroy any malcontent monster not of the material realm.
Fighting Style: Over the years, Dias has trained under a number of mentors to gain valuable knowledge in a wide range of professions. This accumulated experience has gradually been crafted into two distinct fighting styles which he can switch between as the situation calls for it.
"Sword Mage"- Dias' original Fighting Style, the one most commonly known by others which he developed early on in life and has since expanded upon over time. In the past, he was classified as what many would call a Red Mage; a jack of all trades who learned to mix spells with swordsmanship. This particular style revolves around the creative application of different elements either used independently or in combination with one another to greater effect. Sword Mage is reliant upon the natural ability inherent to all Ildera known as Ether Burn, allowing Dias to deconstruct or 'burn' physical matter, metaphysical energies or natural elements into a raw source of power which he then uses himself to perform a unique type of spellcraft called Spatha Magei (Sword Magic). This style assumes a defensive position in battle, focusing on being reactionary with opponents to counter enemy attacks and creating an opportunity for the killing blow or pressing enemies into a corner with a variety of traps like playing a game of chess.
"Kensei (Sword Saint)"- A rare sight to behold, this Fighting Style sees Dias abandon the use of Ether Burn in favor of a more direct approach in demonstrating his mastery of close quarters combat. The culmination of everything he has learned over the years, the man becomes an unstoppable force of nature with speed and strength surpassing physical limits, shifting to full offense and charging opponents head on. Combining the techniques of Shinmei Ryu, Mujushin, Damaru Chikara and Blade Rush along with his other natural abilities, Dias overwhelms enemies with lethal strikes that can deliver a hundred blows in the flash of one gunshot or cut down an entire horde with a single slash of his sword. He aggressively presses the assault, ruthlessly chasing down targets with a killer instinct that only grows more intense the harder they try to fight back.
Signature Technique/Skill/Ability:
"Ether Burn"- An innate ability all Ildera possess at birth and which manifests early on in childhood. They are able to perceive and directly influence the Ether which resides within all things, even the very air we breathe. It serves as the building blocks for all Creation, a power which harnesses the potential of Agnari Creativity, their greatest treasure and the crux of their species.
The Power of Imagination...
Ether has been identified by others as a form of Meta-Energy which transcends the physical and spiritual divide, taking on characteristics to match the personal beliefs of others. In its raw state, it permeates all matter and lacks any and all defining properties, explained in Narria as a blank canvas that has no meaning or purpose until paint is applied to illustrate something. Some have discovered ways to not only detect this energy but also use it as a power source for a variety of magical arts or technologies. This is due to the nature of Ether and how malleable it is. For those who believe in such concepts, it exists to fulfill said beliefs. For those who don't believe in such notions, it won't exist within their reality. It is fueled by one's faith and those beliefs are what define it.
Over time, a society's collective perception will cause the Ether of their world to create a particular kind of energy from itself with unique properties or fundamental understandings which differ from others, giving birth to a myriad of existing forms of metaphysical energies and ideologies; Mana, Kigen, Magoi, Life Force, Magicite, Materia, the Life Stream, Vati, Akasha, Rukh, Chi/Ki/Qi, Dust, Aura, Arcana, Chakra, Spirit, Vital Factor, etc. Even different iterations of Ether as well, energies that possess their own characteristics. This is also why Ether can be considered so many different things, a constant presence while simultaneously existing independently from any one belief system, an open resource able to be freely used by anyone. On its own, it merely serves as a placeholder for something to exist, born of our imaginations. Once it is defined as something such as Mana for example, it ceases to be Ether, being brought into tangible existence while Ether continues to remain in the background as an inactive presence. (Of course this would only be true for such metaphysical energies that are considered naturally occurring, not stemming from an actual man-made source; whether divine or otherwise.)
However, Imperium scholars discovered that Ether was far more than a mere type of polymorphic metaphysical energy. Researchers came to understand that all Creation, everything that sentient life can perceive or comprehend as being either of the Material or Spiritual realms respectively, is also created from Ether as well. Similar to pages in a book, whatever is written upon it becomes real, given meaning by the author. (Character Sheets are a prime example of this; a blank space without any writing would be considered as "Raw Ether" but after you write a name and add more details to gradually shape your character it then becomes "Defined Ether") It is the raw material used to render all existence; from molecules and atoms to souls and different dimensions...everything. The natural world around us is Ether that has been defined by the universe itself, like computer programs operating off of a source code. Magic in Narria is literally the act of manipulating or adding onto that preexisting code to alter or create new programs (Spells) within the system, thus actively influencing the universe's Ether directly.
Meanwhile, Ether Burn is the complete opposite, deconstructing said programs by erasing the written code, burning away all defined attributes and characteristics. As a result, this produces Raw Ether, undefined existence. Ildera can then re-purpose it, utilizing their own creativity to apply new meaning by using the base elements present in nature which constitute the world as we know it. This type of sorcery performed by Dias' kind is called Spatha Magei, translated to mean Sword Magic. During the early experimentation of Ildera conscripted into military service, they would often destroy their weapons in the process, hence the name given to this unique spellcraft.
The base Elements known to Narria are divided into two categories; 'Prime Elements' and 'Derived Elements.'
-Prime Elements; EARTH, FIRE, WATER, AIR and LIGHT
-Derived Elements; METAL, FORCE, ICE, ELECTRIC and DARK
The five Prime Elements are considered to be the core aspects which are collectively used to define Creation. Meanwhile, the Derived Elements are those born from the original five;
Water makes Ice.
Earth forges Metal.
Air sparks Electric.
Fire ignites Force.
Light beckons Dark.
Altogether, they serve as the fundamental properties that come together to compose the Material Realm. With Sword Magic, they can be used either as standalone (Ex: Electricity can conjure a bolt of lightning, Air can unleash a fierce cyclone and Force can generate an explosion) or combined in various ways to produce different effects (Ex: Air + Force can combine to produce a powerful shock wave, Air + Fire can make a flaming tornado, Light + Force can manifest a radiant kinetic barrier, Fire + Light can produce a ray of heat, etc.) This sort of magic does not deal in imaginary metrics, however, only the mechanics extrapolated from the user's intention and creative thought. If a bolt of lightning is manifested and let loose, unless more specific thought is put into the details of it, the bolt will assume the default characteristics and behavior of normal lightning found in nature. So unless given more precise attributes, the universe will impose the default settings on whatever is made in order to make sense of it. Otherwise, an Ildera has full creative control over such properties. One can even remove the dangerous aspect from something as terrifying as said bolt of lightning by simply taking away such intent, causing no harm to whoever is struck by it and making it into nothing more than a spectacular light show.
However, there are two elements that cannot be combined as their properties completely contradict one another; Light and Dark. Trying to do so will produce what Imperium scholars have documented as non-elemental Chaos Energy, a highly volatile power that is impossible to control. Dias will usually concentrate a small amount of Light in the very tip of his sword and then add the Dark attribute to trigger the manifestation of said energy which instantly detonates into a two foot radius blast from the weapon, far enough to avoid being caught in it himself. The effect lasts for a brief instant, absorbing the kinetic energy of any moving objects and doubling it right back or reflecting particles and wave discharges, a nifty trick when dealing with opponents that have absurd strength or are shooting energy beams. (This would also obliterate whatever weapon/object Dias is using for this with the ONLY exception being the legendary Eidolon Antaklas such as the Krydesa due to their complex existence which are included in the same category as sentient lifeforms. Keep reading for more details.)
When a larger amount of Chaos Energy is made, the explosion forms a massive black sphere that latches onto anything within or stupid enough to make contact and applies the same crushing pressure akin to a gravitational singularity. The central point of the afflicted space generates something similar to an event horizon that draws in and consumes quantum particles such as Light which causes the sphere itself to appear black. This miniature hole at the center is where the Chaos Energy is flushing into, thought to be an opening to the Void as the universe purges the mass of energy from itself. The sphere will not grow in size once formed and only lasts for a few seconds before starting to shrink and inevitably phasing out of existence, leaving behind everything that was within strewn out like paste and compressed into a microscopic pancake all fused together at the atomic level. (Nothing outside the sphere is affected as there is no external forces generated by it. The biggest sphere Dias can create is 20 feet in diameter. He will typically use a sword or something else to serve as a catalyst for it with a metal wire attached to trigger the self-destructive recreation at a safe distance. The sphere cannot be moved during detonation and lasts for 5 seconds at its maximum size.)
Meanwhile, when combining Ether of the five Prime Elements together, what is known as Creation Energy is produced. The sheer magnitude of such power is easily capable of instantly disintegrating any and all forms of matter that comes into contact with it. Impossible to contain, once manifested it must be released and given a direction to move in, a radiant beam of pure destruction that continues along its set path until eventually either dissipating or its source is extinguished. Due to how overwhelming this energy is, it will essentially consume the gathered Ether in the fraction of a second, the brief discharge showing as a thin white line with a maximum range of several miles. Very short lived. However, with a sustained source of Ether being used, the blast can last for a few seconds as a five foot wide beam able to reach into orbit from a planet's surface. Once fired, the beam's trajectory cannot be changed and the user has to remain stationary until it dissipates. (The level of concentration required for this also means they can't be doing anything else as all their focus is needed, in turn leaving them vulnerable unless Ether Burn is used to interrupt the process and erase the remaining energy being discharged.)
Additional Raw Ether can also be applied to a construct to change or attach additional elemental properties, using more material for modifications such as crafting a metal weapon and then adding Fire attributes afterwards to either heat the blade or surround it with a blazing flame. Different elements have varying costs and duration, with Earth and Metal proving the most stable and easiest to work with. A crafted sword made through Spatha Magei can easily be subjected to Ether Burn repeatedly and reshaped so long as the core element (Metal or Earth) remains the same. Of course, something like a Dagger can't be turned into a larger weapon without adding more Raw Ether to it or sacrificing the object's density and composition, resulting in a fragile construct that can easily break apart. (The stronger the construct means the more energy required to make it.) The same is true for Water and Ice. Meanwhile, the other elements are less solid and so they can easily lose their energy; Fire will begin to dissipate, Force will instantly channel itself into an action, Air will disperse into the atmosphere and Electricity will gradually lose its charge. The energy used to create them will quickly be lost, hence why weapons will shatter and turn into dust after being spent to cast a simple Fire or Air spell. However, with a constant source of Raw Ether readily available, these finite elements can be sustained without concern such as conjuring a flame and not having to worry about its heat giving out, allowing for greater application and possibilities.
Sentient Creatures/Machines/Objects or anything imbued with or being directly manipulated by someone's willpower or mind are immune to Ether Burn due to the sheer complexity of their existence; the multiple layers and constantly changing thoughts and emotions as well as the intricate composition of their body chemistry or inner workings makes it simply impossible. The same is true in regards to the kind of things Ildera can conjure. While a metal sword is relatively easy to understand and make, a weapon that requires more mechanical components like a gun for example would be impossible. Water cannot be used to produce Acid or Oil. Air can't manufacture chemical weapons like tear gas. Earth can't make gun powder or create trees and plants.
The reason for this has to do with how the Ildera's power functions. Even if they were to know the exact scientific understanding of how something works or is made, that knowledge doesn't translate to being able to decipher the Ether itself. When they make physical contact with something, they are able to read the code which is written, but the language they are exposed to is impossible for their mind to fully comprehend. Attempting to read a living creature would overwhelm the senses due to just how elaborate such an existence can be. And while non-sentient constructs can be subjected to Ether Burn, only the basic elemental concepts can actually be distinguished while the rest would come off as too confusing to understand. So if the Ether for Acid were to be examined, the only aspect that would make sense would be the rudimentary Water elemental aspect serving as the founding basis. (The Acid's Ether can still be burned, but the Ildera won't gain the knowledge of how to recreate it's code.) When performing Spatha Magei; each time an Ildera successfully burns the Ether of something, it will in turn reveal certain bits of the preexisting code that pertains to the founding element. Eventually, they can use that acquired insight and apply the coding that was learned to recreate such things. This is how an Ildera's power naturally evolves over time with gained experience. (Ex: Starting out, Dias was only capable of creating Iron and Stone weapons as that was the easiest and most common types of Metal and Earth elements, but was then gradually able to forge different kinds of metals and alloys or forms of rock and even minerals. Simply put, the reason why something like a common pistol would be impossible is due to all the different moving parts involved. Swords or Shields are just single large pieces being crafted and thus far easier to create. No matter how much experienced or training is gained, it is impossible for an Ildera to use Ether Burn to make any sort of complex weapon or object. The same is true for different kinds of chemicals like Acid or such, the concept is beyond their abilities.)
During adolescence it is quite common that anytime Ildera came into contact with a magical item or active spell, the mere act of touching them would distort the energies and nullify their enchantments. It was for this reason that the Arik Federation conscripted these gifted children into the military at a young age to train them as Anti-Magic Weapons. If maintained as an active thought, anything created from Ether can be instantly negated upon making physical contact with them. An Ildera cannot be harmed by their own creations unless they will it and they can cancel out any such effects or attacks from another Ildera making the power ultimately useless against one another. As such, routine combat training was always included for all recruits. Though Dias never had to endure this harsh training, he instead learned from his mother about how to properly manage this power which proved easier for him as he is a 3rd Generation. (Each progressive generation of Ildera will possess a greater affinity for Spatha Magei and a quicker mastery of their Ether Burn ability.)
Over the course of his life, Dias was met with one challenge after another, each experience compounding to push his abilities beyond their perceived limits as he achieved higher levels surpassing others of his kind. His mastery of Spatha Magei would have earned him the prestigious title of Magister from the Imperium, capable of conjuring and manipulating a vast number of constructs simultaneously without losing concentration, a display of mental focus that would even compete with the esteemed Magus Dominus. To deal with airborne challenges, he learned to ignite the Ether in the air around himself to generate a burst of kinetic force used as a sort of multi-directional Quick Boost/Dash or "Air Jump" allowing for superior mobility on the battlefield and fight aerial foes by literally traversing the sky. Furthermore, with but a mere thought, he can trigger a chain reaction by removing certain bits of code to cause Ether to turn unstable and violently self-destruct, even from his own creations which can easily take opponents by surprise. The intensity of said explosions depend on the amount of Ether being afflicted and the manner in which they detonate, each eruption strengthening the next.
In addition, Dias has developed certain techniques with his Ether Burn and Sword Magic which makes use of having a source of unlimited Raw Ether for him to work with, such as the Moonlight and Lost Legacy (Uruha's Isograevus). He now wields SoulLink, originally known by its true name; the Krydesa. These legendary weapons generate a consistent wave of energy, enabling him to access the full potential of his power.
"GLEIPNIR" acts as a major enhancement to bolster defensive and offensive attributes by encasing the entire body or individual parts in a suit of Ether forged armor. The GLEIPNIR can be infused with different elemental properties that grant varying advantages, though it can only possess one element's aspects at a time. Some examples include infusing the Force element to give the illusion of superhuman strength like shattering boulders with his fist or enchanting the armor with the Fire element to produce a deadly field of heat that damages or straight up burns alive opponents who linger within it too long. "VORPAL SWORD" is a technique where Dias extends the reach of his weapon by fabricating an ethereal blade with a maximum range of 150 feet. Unlike a normal strike, this incorporeal blade seems to just pass through physical matter harmlessly at first. However, what really happens is that a mark is left behind, the matter being saturated by Ether defined as Light. JUST Light. This creates a conflict of definitions as solid matter and wave particles are two distinctly different concepts. As a result, after a short momentary delay, the universe seeks to correct the error by erasing the anomalous contradictory molecules giving the illusion of Dias cleanly slicing through whatever is struck. Effectively, this attack cuts through the dimension itself, bypassing most manner of defense and dispatching anyone foolish enough not to evade the deathblow.
"ARMIGER" creates a Sphere of Influence within a 30 yard radius, surrounding Dias in a saturated field of Raw Ether, deliberately burning energy from his legendary weapon to gather a surplus of material to work with. This excess amount of energy can be used to rapidly speed up creation time as well as provide ample fuel for a number of far more powerful attacks. Anything he creates can be freely manipulated hands-free so long as they remain within the Ether sphere which will continue to move with him to remain centered around the man.
"FLASH COFFIN" is the full potential of another nefarious trick that Dias invented years ago called Stasis Sword by combining the Air, Water and Ice elemental attributes to conjure an invisible aura that instantly flash freezes anything or anyone it makes contact with. Flash Coffin works by amplifying this aura which is generated to create a mass of rapidly growing ice that begins to manifest and latch onto anything it can. The ice itself likewise serves as a catalyst for it, producing its own similar field and increasing the radius of the aura. By triggering precise explosions, mass chunks can act as fragmentation grenades which blast outward at foes. The bits that are sent flying will enable the aura to spread quicker and continue to grow, feeding on the moisture being flooded into the atmosphere by Dias or directly fueled by additional raw ether from him to dramatically boost rate of growth. The 'creeping ice' as he calls it will consume any and all sources of heat, smothering it until all life is extinguished. Meanwhile, the battlefield is quickly taken over by the ever expanding coffin which provides more defenses for Dias while simultaneously threatening to devour his foes. The aura will flash freeze any physical matter that makes contact with it, inside and out, hence the name Flash Coffin. (ARMIGER is required to be active for Flash Coffin but not for Stasis Sword. The freezing aura has a radius of several feet and has no effect on Dias who is immune to his own creations unless he deliberately intends it to.)
"EXCALIBUR" is a purely defensive technique that establishes a protective barrier utilizing the Light and Force elements. The effect works by producing a literal wall of force that absorbs and instantly reflects any and all kinetic energy directed at it. The radiant field created acts independently from Dias allowing him freedom of movement to perform other actions. It can be used to cover his weapons, a shield or even a wide space. However, such a powerful guard is not without its drawbacks. Any and all forms of energy based attacks will easily pass right through the barrier along with other elements such as Electricity, Fire, Water, etc. The Excalibur is really only effective at stopping physical attacks from solid objects by catching them and doubling their kinetic force right back into them as well as repulsing physical strikes from opponents. (The wide area version of the barrier requires ARMIGER to be active, creating the radiant field all around the outer edge of the 30 yard radius sphere. ARMIGER is not required for normal use with coating weapons or shields. The barrier remains active until dispelled by Dias. As the shield works independently without direct control by Dias, anyone skilled enough at magic could technically be capable of cancelling the spell as well.)
"ULTIMA CANNON" is the most purely destructive technique with unparalleled stopping power. By channeling each of the five primary elements into one of five rotating weapons which spin around the Krydesa, Dias pumps a steady stream of Raw Ether into the central space where all these forces combine to produce Creation Energy. The unrelenting torrent is let loose as a five foot wide beam traveling at the speed of light and outright disintegrates any physical matter that makes contact with it. The blast has even managed to annihilate a God, earning Dias his nickname. (Requires ARMIGER being active, takes 3 turns to prepare. If the process is interrupted at all then the whole task must be restarted all over again.)
"BLADE EMPEROR, FIRST VERSE" is arguably the most dangerous and awe inspiring technique Dias possesses in his arsenal, though it requires a good bit of preparation time to perform. This is because he saturates the environment with a reservoir of Raw Ether, stabbing the Krydesa into the ground to begin the injection process. (Cast Time = 5 turns) The sword MUST remain stationary with Dias maintaining his connection with it, either directly or indirectly. If at any time his connection with the sword is broken, the energy is lost and harmlessly disperses, ending the process and forcing him to start all over again. Once complete, however, the mass of Ether which has seeped into the ground, trees, buildings and all other structures within a 1,000ft perimeter ends up igniting with rays of light which then condense and become a graveyard of every sword the man has ever encountered in his life. All of them perfect replicas. 10,000 blades of different make and model littering the area, each one connected to Dias and acting as an extension of his body, responding to his every thought and movement. The Krydesa cannot be moved, serving as the central nervous system for the elaborate network and continues to pump out an ongoing flow of energy which can be used to replace any weapons which may get destroyed. (Connections can be broken or reformed between the weapons via metal wires that can be attached at any time, even at a distance so long as the primary node remains under his control. The swords created will not disperse once made due to their Metal elemental attribute.)
"BLADE EMPEROR, SECOND VERSE" follows the successful creation of Dias' vast arsenal of swords, the final stage which has never been witnessed before by anyone. For this, all the blades on the battlefield shatter into dust. The remnants are then used as a catalyst for his power to set the atmosphere ablaze, channeling the flow of Raw Ether from the Krydesa into the air and generating a massive Sphere of Influence akin to his ARMIGER (Revealed to be a much smaller scale version of Second Verse) which permeates an 800ft radius. In this phase, the Krydesa can be reclaimed, remaining as the focal point of the energy field which moves around with Dias who stays at the center of the energy mass.
(NOTE: The above list are examples for some of what Ether Burn can do while having access to an unlimited supply of energy to work with. As such, the Krydesa is required to access this level of power or some other source.)
While the environment can be tapped for a supply of Ether, its usually not a very reliable source. For example, though the air is readily available at all times, it also lacks depth and isn't very plentiful. In order to create anything substantial from it, a large amount would be required and this would in turn result in a serious loss of surrounding oxygen and thus create a vacuum space, leading to the risk of suffocation during the burning process. The ground, rocks and trees can provide ample amounts of energy, however these take time to burn depending on what is trying to be done. (Creating any decent solid object from the environment requires a "Primer" action to initiate the burning process to make Raw Ether which can either be completed in the same turn as an Action to just straight up make said object or spaced out to be completed automatically in the next post and giving the option to halt the process based on the circumstances such as needing to suddenly dodge or block.) However, snow, sand and water are much easier to burn (Instant Action) and can provide a wealth of raw material if found in abundance. (Ex: Snowfield, Dessert, a Public Pool, etc.)
Raw Ether which has been burned but not used can be witnessed by others as distorted space, like a field of static where shapes and colors within appear somewhat warped. This is merely an optical effect as nothing within said space is actually being harmed or influenced by the energy's presence. Simply put, the universe does not know how to properly render Raw Ether because it lacks any definition until an Ildera applies elemental properties to it. Objects being subjected to Ether Burn will start to illuminate, giving off a very visible white glow as defining features are removed leaving only a placeholder. (Which can likewise serve as a visual cue for opponents.)
Ether Burn requires that physical contact be maintained at all times during the process, whether directly or indirectly. An example would be like creating a field of Raw Ether. So long as Dias remains physically touching the field itself, he can impose his power and exert control over anything within the field or anything outside that still has some form of connection to the field. However, if at any time physical contact is broken, any unused Raw Ether will dissipate and vanish without a trace. (Ex: Leaving the Raw Ether field would cause it to suddenly cease existing. However, anything created using that Raw Ether will remain intact, such as starting a fire which continues to burn even without maintaining contact. The field would remain present so long as there is something maintaining physical contact between it and the user, such as another object like metal wires for instance.)
Raw Ether can also be injected into physical matter such as the ground, buildings and any other solid objects, saturating them with the energy that can allow for creations to be made at a distance so long as some manner of connection remains constant. This is also true for the body, an example being to use the right hand to create Raw Ether and then channel the energy through that arm, through the chest and to the left hand to create a weapon using the Metal element.
Ildera eyes will shift color whenever using this power, turning a vibrant, glowing crimson that depict what is referred to in Narria as the Nihilus Paradox. The condition itself is more prominently known as the "Red Eye Virus" or the "Nihilus Curse" as it can prove fatal to anyone infected by it with Ildera being the only known exceptions. Born with this mysterious decease, the Nihilus Paradox was found to be the actual source of their strange Ether Burn ability; able to harness and make use of the Counter Formula to Creation's Design.
During his hellish stay in Daemonium where he was left for dead, Dias reunited with his old friend and mentor, Lanford De'Linux, who had one final lesson to teach him. Trapped in a realm completely devoid of Ether, while on the verge of total defeat and without his sword during the fierce duel to the death against his former Captain, Dias once again spoke with the voice he had only ever heard as a child in his nightmares... The voice offered aid in exchange for submission, but Dias refused and subdued the sinister presence instead.
In doing so, he achieved a new evolution of his ability which Lanford dubbed as "SOUL BURN."
While in this state, Dias ignites the Ether of his own existence, reaching a level where he simultaneously has one foot in both doors, bridging the barrier between the material and spiritual planes. It is something Ashrum scientists have called a 'Quantum Uncertainty.' Defined by his own resolve, an entity of pure will, his body becomes the ultimate weapon tapping into an unlimited reservoir of energy. His own attributes of speed and strength are without restraint and can achieve impossible feats. However, the longer he stays in this form, the harder it becomes to revert back to normal. Upon transforming back, even if it was only for a few minutes, the amount of mental exhaustion and stress caused by Soul Burn can and will cause Dias to promptly pass out, leaving him totally vulnerable. -Ethalia Family Royal Swordsmanship
The basic and advanced form and stances which can be applied or adapted as needed for most swords. With emphasis placed on registering the footing of your opponent and picking up subtle nuances to predict attacks and respond accordingly, as well as proper breathing control and positioning. This was Dias' first introduction to swordsmanship which gave him a firm foundation that was gradually built up and developed over time. Daily exercise routines ingrain these movements into muscle memory so that reactions and strikes are performed as if second nature.
-Master Florentine
The art of dual wielding, Dias spent years perfecting the skill to master the handling of blades with equal or differing weight and length in either hand without suffering combat effectiveness. Over time he trained to be ambidextrous and increase eye-hand coordination, allowing him to fight multiple opponents from different angles around himself while managing to keep track of every opponent's action and placement on the battlefield. He often applies this discipline to work in tandem with a metal scabbard or saya, serving for both offense and defense.
-Fast Draw
Similar to the practice and techniques found in Iaijutsu, Dias invented this style to work with swords from other cultures. When weapons are sheathed, they can still be used as effective weapons, presenting a wide range of applications.

Dias has served in many wars as an enlisted soldier for different countries across the vast Omniverse. Each of those experiences have gradually combined into a single cohesive set of skills from formal hand-to-hand combat, knife fighting, marksmanship, extensive firearms training and basic survival techniques for out in the wild over extended periods of time. He also acquired rudimentary experience with the use of various martial weapons such as axes, staves, spears, shields, etc. which formed the foundation of his overall versatility in combat.

The art of drawing the sword, it is an ancient martial art that focuses on how to utilize the potential of a sword while it is sheathed and at rest in the neutral state. This trains reflexes to respond instantly and deploy the weapon for either offense or defense while minimizing wasteful movement. A single strike can mean the difference between life or death, decided in but a moment...
-Mujushin Kenjutsu (Sword of No Abiding Mind)
Taking the battle between two opponents, detaching yourself from the situation and viewing the field from an outside perspective. This style transforms a fight into a game of mental chess and slowing the world around you to a near halt, placing more emphasis on honing the mind to make it as sharp as a razor's edge. Tapping into the full potential of all mental faculties, each action is carefully calculated as the opponent's every subtle detail and movement is registered and scrutinized. One can watch as a bolt of lightning sparks in the atmosphere and slowly reaches down from the clouds to the ground below. Training involves meditation to practice expanding one's awareness and breaking free of the mortal coil to tap into the astral plane of existence, accessing the metaphysical realm to achieve a higher level of focus. Training while in this transcended state, one can design and run through a series of hypothetical scenarios with difficult challenges that one must then work through to overcome. Whether facing off against the memory of past adversaries or real battlefield situations with staggering high odds.
-Shinmei Ryu Kenjutsu (God's Cry - School of the Divinity Blade)
An ancient style of Kenjutsu known to a select few. With its history tied to that of Onmyodo, the God's Cry focuses on training the soul and channeling one's will, infusing physical strikes so as to fight against incorporeal adversaries and learning to harness Qi energy as a powerful, versatile weapon. It was originally developed by ancient swordsmen of the past as a means to deal with the demonic spirits and other such malevolent forces which plagued the lands as a result of countless battles and death.
"Zanmaken" is a technique which infuses any held weapon or object with the warrior's willpower that is lethal to spiritual or metaphysical entities it makes contact with, eradicating it and dispersing its conscious awareness. Meanwhile, the Zanmaken Ni-no-Tachi projects that power outward in order to harmlessly pass through possessed victims or those having their minds being controlled to sever said connections and purging the foreign influence from the body to free them of such effects.
"Zanganken" channels Qi into any held weapon or object, giving one tremendous cutting power to slice cleanly through any physical matter it makes contact with, instantly cutting the molecules apart with surgical precision. The Zanganken Ni-no-Tachi can likewise manifest the energy beyond the blade like a projectile, extending the reach to strike at distant foes with the same level of lethal effectiveness. However, this technique is rendered useless against any magical barriers or will based defenses. Ideal for situations when an enemy has taken a hostage as the ranged version of this technique can harmlessly bypass obstacles and hit the intended target.
"Raimeiken" is a close range attack which surges Qi into any held weapon or object and then releases the energy in a directed explosive burst to cause impact damage. The powerful blow sounds like a thunderclap, shattering nearby glass within the surrounding area and packing enough raw destructive force to easily punch through an inch thick plate of Titanium or crushing the ground to form a sizable crater. The Raimeiken Ni-no-Tachi can likewise allow the charged energy to be thrown and remote detonated at a distance, dishing out the same degree of damage to anything within a 5 foot radius of itself. An even stronger version, the Kyokudai Raimeiken, can unleash a devastating blast at close range that can compress solids into literal pancakes, 5x more powerful than its weaker form. However, it requires remaining stationary and to use both hands.
"Zantetsusen" is a counter technique that only works against incoming physical attacks, releasing a spiral wave of Qi that latches onto the target and violently redirects whatever kinetic energy was being applied back into the attack itself, the backlash delivering double the force. Assuming projectiles don't simply shatter instantly, they are sent flying back at twice the velocity. Countered melee attacks will have the same result of dramatically increasing the reversed kinetic energy, the recoil proving enough to twist a person's arm to the point of muscles and ligaments being torn apart, bones dislocating or snapping, totally rendering the limb(s) useless if not straight ripped off the body at the joint. The more kinetic energy and strength used by the opponent will drastically increase the power of the counterattack. (NOTE: Does not work against energy based attacks. The level of damage inflicted is dependent on the amount of force/strength used by the opponent which is doubled upon being redirected. Can also be used to knock back or destroy large objects being thrown.)
"Hyakuretsu Okazan" is a powerful melee technique that exerts Qi into the surrounding atmosphere creating the appearance of ten arms wielding a duplicate version of whatever weapon(s) or object(s) are being held. The mere sight alone is enough to strike even the most hardened warrior with fear, offering superior offense and defense as each limb seemingly has full independent movement. The only drawback is that the user must remain stationary due to the concentration needed. (NOTE: Can be used in conjunction with other Shinmei Ryu techniques.)
"Raikoken" is a non-lethal technique to disarm an opponent. Manipulating the flow of Qi outside the body, any held weapon or object can be given an electrical charge. In the event the adversary blocks this strike, upon making contact the energy will then discharge and further direct through said item whether it be a weapon, shield or even armor and deliver a high voltage shock into the central nervous system. The resulting jolt will leave the target feeling temporarily numb but also cause violent muscle convulsions forcing them to unwillingly drop whatever held item was struck. The Shin Raikoken is far greater in scale, generating visible arcs of electricity in the atmosphere. Whether blocking the attack or even being nicked by it will send a powerful surge into the target's body strong enough to cause temporary full paralysis.
"Zankusen" is a non-lethal technique that generates a mighty gust of wind that can swiftly sweep through an area. Resonating the flow of Qi through any held weapon or object, the swirling energy rapidly builds up a vortex that when released produces a wide burst of air, ideal for clearing away smoke, mist, dust, etc. Zankusen Kai, a stronger variation of this technique, releases the swirling energy outward either as a narrow directed blast to knock down a target with tremendous air pressure or as a furious tornado that gradually increases intensity and can lift things up off the ground such as enemies, vehicles, etc. (NOTE: Depending on how long it is charged before being released. 1 post charge can lift a person or any other medium size creature. 2 post charge can lift a vehicle; cars, trucks, tanks, etc.)
"Messatsu Zanku Zanmasen" is a dangerous technique that generates a wide area burst of Qi which shatters the atmosphere, trapping a target within a void. The afflicted, cone-shaped zone 50 foot wide extending outward from the user has all the air pushed out with multiple uses of the attack sustaining this effect, similar to being abruptly cast into the vacuum of space itself. Unless the target was able to exhale before getting caught by the wave, their eardrums would rupture causing hearing loss and the gas inside the lungs would expand and then implode. Assuming they avoided such a fate and or were somehow still alive, after about several seconds the brain would begin to shutdown from a lack of oxygen.
"Shiten Kekkai Dokko Rengaku" is a defensive technique which makes use of four weapons or objects charged with Qi to act as focal points and establish a sustained barrier. The protective field remains impenetrable so long as concentration is maintained, making it impossible to move even an inch so to to avoid losing control. The shield itself is a projection of the user's own will. Of course, there are limits to such as even Masters can only maintain this for roughly an hour due to the kind of strain. Repeated attacks upon the barrier will drastically shorten that time, only being able to withstand 10 seconds worth of continuous beating. (NOTE: Typically only good for blocking a single powerful attack or surviving deadly Area of Effect strikes.)
"Inatsurubi No Katama" a specialized technique designed to capture targets within a bounded field. Using either weapons or any object charged with Qi to act as anchor points, a designated containment zone is established. At any point, the charged anchors can be activated, trapping anything or anyone inside the suspended field, including metaphysical entities. Even a God could be restrained by such a skill, though it won't last long. A few moments at best, so long as the user remains perfectly still and doesn't lose focus. This would give allies an opportunity to launch ranged attacks or magical spells at the prisoner who would be unable to dodge, counter or block while trapped in such a state as anything can enter the field but can't exit while active. (NOTE: 8 Points must be established for this to work, giving the connected outline of a cube or rectangle in shape.)
(NOTE: Techniques that can be used as Ranged Attacks have a maximum reach of 100 feet. Due to the nature of Qi Energy, most of these attacks don't offer any visual cues and as such can be very difficult to anticipate. For anyone who lacks the ability to detect or observe metaphysical energies, it would be literally impossible to see these attacks coming, completely invisible to the naked eye. All techniques utilizing Qi are treated as Will based, deriving from the user's own willpower.)

A martial art which teaches one to use their opponent's strength against them. Contains the stances and techniques to not only disarm enemies but also deliver lethal counters to end a fight instantly with but a single strike.

Similar to Aikijutsu, Aikido revolves around peaceful resolution to conflict, manipulating the force of an adversary to safely disarm them without causing serious injury.
-Shaolin Wushu
A form of Kung Fu that is straight forward and to the point. It teaches to harness internal instinct as a weapon, controlling the release and channeling of primal fury and emotion. Every motion flows into another, bombarding an opponent's senses as you strike every opening and dismantle a foe with lethal precision and tenacity. The body maintains a firm yet flexible state, muscles relaxed rather than tense to allow for swift attacks and drastically reduced reaction times.
-Damaru Chikara (Silent Power)
A type of martial art invented by Dias' mentor and Squad Captain, Lanford De'Linux. A mix of advanced Biofeedback techniques, Tai Chi and the practice of Qigong, the central focus of Damaru Chikara is in mastering the self and how to access one's Aura. The radiant metaphysical energy field which surrounds the body at all times, our Aura is an outward expression of our emotions being filtered and experienced by the world around us. Animals are born with a high level of sensitivity to the emotional wavelengths of others, a characteristic Humans gradually lost touch with but that is still apart of their physiology. It is an excess amount of energy which sentient creatures produce naturally, generated from our feelings. Lanford discovered a direct correlation between one's Aura and the level of Qi present in the body, the two seeming to work together in tandem. Emotions on their own are a source of tremendous power. The former Captain of the Tyril Kingdom's Azure Knights created Damaru Chikara to not only expand his own knowledge and learn to identify it but also to harness such untapped potential and freely manipulate it for a host of different uses.
-Blade Rush
An imperfect version of Captain Lanford's Strike Rush, developed by Dias earlier in his career not long after becoming the older man's apprentice. However, he lacked the experience and sufficient training at the time to make it effective enough or comparable to his former teacher's technique and as such ended up abandoning the idea. However, after the time spent in Daemonium, Dias had gained the required insight after using 'Soul Burn' for the first time and decided to make another attempt. With a few months worth of practice, he finally succeeded in making actual progress with it. Similar in concept to the advanced Biofeedback techniques associated with Damaru Chikara, the principle ideology of Mind Over Matter is applied to the self. Through sheer force of will, the physical body transitions into a semi-metaphysical state, temporarily converting matter into a semi-physical and energy state so as to exceed material limitations. This enables Dias to perform feats of speed that surpass comprehension, such as being able to draw his sword and attack while then sheathing the weapon all without seemingly moving a muscle, out pacing a projectile fired at near point blank range to easily dodge it or actively swiping each individual drop of rain within striking distance during a storm to keep the ground dry all around him. The only visual cue witnessed is a blur of movement which becomes easier to recognize the longer he uses it. This skill can also be used in conjunction with his other techniques associated with Damaru Chikara, Shinmei Ryu and Mujushin Kenjutsu for a very deadly combination...
However, the technique is still a rough version which serves as an imitation of his mentor's and as such is still seriously lacking in the same level of effectiveness. While using Strike Rush, Lanford could actively sustain moving at such speed over distances while performing attacks simultaneously. Dias on the other hand has to choose between either performing quick movements or focus on attacking without being able to move the rest of his body. Likewise, since he is just dramatically boosting his own speed, he can't pass through solid objects which would still serve as obstacles. And due to the high level of focus required, he is unable to make use of his Ether Burn while Blade Rush is active.
When entering this state, Dias' body exerts a vibrant radiance that appears somewhat distorted at times. A visual cue is given whenever he is making an action; the surge of energy easily witnessed by others. The power can also be gathered into a single limb to generate massive amounts of kinetic force that can then be unleashed for a variety of uses like when there isn't a solid surface to move around on.

Race: "Ildera"- Also commonly called an Azurite or Azure Child for their unique hair color and feature, Ildera are actually considered a type of mutation of Agnari born from mating with a Vyssin or another Ildera. However, despite this fact, there isn't much physiological difference between them except for their radiant blue hair that generates a mystical glow from specks of ethereal crystals coming off of each strand before harmlessly dissolving in the air. They don't possess the same kind of monstrous physical strength that all Vyssin have and their DNA is surprisingly identical to the Agnari species. Meanwhile, to further elaborate, Agnari are the genetic precursors of Humans found in the Omniverse. This would mean someone like Dias would essentially be labelled as a Human by said civilizations outside of Narria. However, Humans are more of a degraded version. All Agnari started off at the beginning with pale skin and no hair. Their genetics are highly active, designed to adapt swiftly to their environment and change based on the kind of things they eat and drink. Evolving as needed. These Proto-Humans lack impurities, never having suffered such things as cancer and with immune systems capable of reinventing to produce immunity to disease. Most cures for sicknesses that plague Humans could be obtained from Dias' own blood, his body constantly working to manufacture such to keep him healthy in whatever environment he's in. The Agnari life span is also well over double that of the average Human. Ancient Agnari physiology developed melanocyte cells to produce melanin to darken their skin as needed for protection for those who traveled outside of Narria to other worlds, a trait gradually passed on to Humans. The wide range of food only found growing in Narria resulted in greater variety of melanin being produced, commonly seeing Agnari with purple or even green hair. And while there were those who had blue hair as well, Ildera were the only ones with the enchanting trait of it vibrantly glowing.

This particular style revolves around the creative application of different elements either used independently or in combination with one another to greater effect. Sword Mage is reliant upon the natural ability inherent to all Ildera known as Ether Burn, allowing Dias to deconstruct or 'burn' physical matter, metaphysical energies or natural elements into a raw source of power which he then uses himself to perform a unique type of spellcraft called Spatha Magei (Sword Magic). This style assumes a defensive position in battle, focusing on being reactionary with opponents to counter enemy attacks and creating an opportunity for the killing blow or pressing enemies into a corner with a variety of traps like playing a game of chess.

They are able to perceive and directly influence the Ether which resides within all things, even the very air we breathe. It serves as the building blocks for all Creation, a power which harnesses the potential of Agnari Creativity, their greatest treasure and the crux of their species.
The Power of Imagination...
Ether has been identified by others as a form of Meta-Energy which transcends the physical and spiritual divide, taking on characteristics to match the personal beliefs of others. In its raw state, it permeates all matter and lacks any and all defining properties, explained in Narria as a blank canvas that has no meaning or purpose until paint is applied to illustrate something. Some have discovered ways to not only detect this energy but also use it as a power source for a variety of magical arts or technologies. This is due to the nature of Ether and how malleable it is. For those who believe in such concepts, it exists to fulfill said beliefs. For those who don't believe in such notions, it won't exist within their reality. It is fueled by one's faith and those beliefs are what define it.
Over time, a society's collective perception will cause the Ether of their world to create a particular kind of energy from itself with unique properties or fundamental understandings which differ from others, giving birth to a myriad of existing forms of metaphysical energies and ideologies; Mana, Kigen, Magoi, Life Force, Magicite, Materia, the Life Stream, Vati, Akasha, Rukh, Chi/Ki/Qi, Dust, Aura, Arcana, Chakra, Spirit, Vital Factor, etc. Even different iterations of Ether as well, energies that possess their own characteristics. This is also why Ether can be considered so many different things, a constant presence while simultaneously existing independently from any one belief system, an open resource able to be freely used by anyone. On its own, it merely serves as a placeholder for something to exist, born of our imaginations. Once it is defined as something such as Mana for example, it ceases to be Ether, being brought into tangible existence while Ether continues to remain in the background as an inactive presence. (Of course this would only be true for such metaphysical energies that are considered naturally occurring, not stemming from an actual man-made source; whether divine or otherwise.)
However, Imperium scholars discovered that Ether was far more than a mere type of polymorphic metaphysical energy. Researchers came to understand that all Creation, everything that sentient life can perceive or comprehend as being either of the Material or Spiritual realms respectively, is also created from Ether as well. Similar to pages in a book, whatever is written upon it becomes real, given meaning by the author. (Character Sheets are a prime example of this; a blank space without any writing would be considered as "Raw Ether" but after you write a name and add more details to gradually shape your character it then becomes "Defined Ether") It is the raw material used to render all existence; from molecules and atoms to souls and different dimensions...everything. The natural world around us is Ether that has been defined by the universe itself, like computer programs operating off of a source code. Magic in Narria is literally the act of manipulating or adding onto that preexisting code to alter or create new programs (Spells) within the system, thus actively influencing the universe's Ether directly.
Meanwhile, Ether Burn is the complete opposite, deconstructing said programs by erasing the written code, burning away all defined attributes and characteristics. As a result, this produces Raw Ether, undefined existence. Ildera can then re-purpose it, utilizing their own creativity to apply new meaning by using the base elements present in nature which constitute the world as we know it. This type of sorcery performed by Dias' kind is called Spatha Magei, translated to mean Sword Magic. During the early experimentation of Ildera conscripted into military service, they would often destroy their weapons in the process, hence the name given to this unique spellcraft.
The base Elements known to Narria are divided into two categories; 'Prime Elements' and 'Derived Elements.'
-Prime Elements; EARTH, FIRE, WATER, AIR and LIGHT
-Derived Elements; METAL, FORCE, ICE, ELECTRIC and DARK
The five Prime Elements are considered to be the core aspects which are collectively used to define Creation. Meanwhile, the Derived Elements are those born from the original five;
Water makes Ice.
Earth forges Metal.
Air sparks Electric.
Fire ignites Force.
Light beckons Dark.
Altogether, they serve as the fundamental properties that come together to compose the Material Realm. With Sword Magic, they can be used either as standalone (Ex: Electricity can conjure a bolt of lightning, Air can unleash a fierce cyclone and Force can generate an explosion) or combined in various ways to produce different effects (Ex: Air + Force can combine to produce a powerful shock wave, Air + Fire can make a flaming tornado, Light + Force can manifest a radiant kinetic barrier, Fire + Light can produce a ray of heat, etc.) This sort of magic does not deal in imaginary metrics, however, only the mechanics extrapolated from the user's intention and creative thought. If a bolt of lightning is manifested and let loose, unless more specific thought is put into the details of it, the bolt will assume the default characteristics and behavior of normal lightning found in nature. So unless given more precise attributes, the universe will impose the default settings on whatever is made in order to make sense of it. Otherwise, an Ildera has full creative control over such properties. One can even remove the dangerous aspect from something as terrifying as said bolt of lightning by simply taking away such intent, causing no harm to whoever is struck by it and making it into nothing more than a spectacular light show.
However, there are two elements that cannot be combined as their properties completely contradict one another; Light and Dark. Trying to do so will produce what Imperium scholars have documented as non-elemental Chaos Energy, a highly volatile power that is impossible to control. Dias will usually concentrate a small amount of Light in the very tip of his sword and then add the Dark attribute to trigger the manifestation of said energy which instantly detonates into a two foot radius blast from the weapon, far enough to avoid being caught in it himself. The effect lasts for a brief instant, absorbing the kinetic energy of any moving objects and doubling it right back or reflecting particles and wave discharges, a nifty trick when dealing with opponents that have absurd strength or are shooting energy beams. (This would also obliterate whatever weapon/object Dias is using for this with the ONLY exception being the legendary Eidolon Antaklas such as the Krydesa due to their complex existence which are included in the same category as sentient lifeforms. Keep reading for more details.)
When a larger amount of Chaos Energy is made, the explosion forms a massive black sphere that latches onto anything within or stupid enough to make contact and applies the same crushing pressure akin to a gravitational singularity. The central point of the afflicted space generates something similar to an event horizon that draws in and consumes quantum particles such as Light which causes the sphere itself to appear black. This miniature hole at the center is where the Chaos Energy is flushing into, thought to be an opening to the Void as the universe purges the mass of energy from itself. The sphere will not grow in size once formed and only lasts for a few seconds before starting to shrink and inevitably phasing out of existence, leaving behind everything that was within strewn out like paste and compressed into a microscopic pancake all fused together at the atomic level. (Nothing outside the sphere is affected as there is no external forces generated by it. The biggest sphere Dias can create is 20 feet in diameter. He will typically use a sword or something else to serve as a catalyst for it with a metal wire attached to trigger the self-destructive recreation at a safe distance. The sphere cannot be moved during detonation and lasts for 5 seconds at its maximum size.)
Meanwhile, when combining Ether of the five Prime Elements together, what is known as Creation Energy is produced. The sheer magnitude of such power is easily capable of instantly disintegrating any and all forms of matter that comes into contact with it. Impossible to contain, once manifested it must be released and given a direction to move in, a radiant beam of pure destruction that continues along its set path until eventually either dissipating or its source is extinguished. Due to how overwhelming this energy is, it will essentially consume the gathered Ether in the fraction of a second, the brief discharge showing as a thin white line with a maximum range of several miles. Very short lived. However, with a sustained source of Ether being used, the blast can last for a few seconds as a five foot wide beam able to reach into orbit from a planet's surface. Once fired, the beam's trajectory cannot be changed and the user has to remain stationary until it dissipates. (The level of concentration required for this also means they can't be doing anything else as all their focus is needed, in turn leaving them vulnerable unless Ether Burn is used to interrupt the process and erase the remaining energy being discharged.)
Additional Raw Ether can also be applied to a construct to change or attach additional elemental properties, using more material for modifications such as crafting a metal weapon and then adding Fire attributes afterwards to either heat the blade or surround it with a blazing flame. Different elements have varying costs and duration, with Earth and Metal proving the most stable and easiest to work with. A crafted sword made through Spatha Magei can easily be subjected to Ether Burn repeatedly and reshaped so long as the core element (Metal or Earth) remains the same. Of course, something like a Dagger can't be turned into a larger weapon without adding more Raw Ether to it or sacrificing the object's density and composition, resulting in a fragile construct that can easily break apart. (The stronger the construct means the more energy required to make it.) The same is true for Water and Ice. Meanwhile, the other elements are less solid and so they can easily lose their energy; Fire will begin to dissipate, Force will instantly channel itself into an action, Air will disperse into the atmosphere and Electricity will gradually lose its charge. The energy used to create them will quickly be lost, hence why weapons will shatter and turn into dust after being spent to cast a simple Fire or Air spell. However, with a constant source of Raw Ether readily available, these finite elements can be sustained without concern such as conjuring a flame and not having to worry about its heat giving out, allowing for greater application and possibilities.
Sentient Creatures/Machines/Objects or anything imbued with or being directly manipulated by someone's willpower or mind are immune to Ether Burn due to the sheer complexity of their existence; the multiple layers and constantly changing thoughts and emotions as well as the intricate composition of their body chemistry or inner workings makes it simply impossible. The same is true in regards to the kind of things Ildera can conjure. While a metal sword is relatively easy to understand and make, a weapon that requires more mechanical components like a gun for example would be impossible. Water cannot be used to produce Acid or Oil. Air can't manufacture chemical weapons like tear gas. Earth can't make gun powder or create trees and plants.
The reason for this has to do with how the Ildera's power functions. Even if they were to know the exact scientific understanding of how something works or is made, that knowledge doesn't translate to being able to decipher the Ether itself. When they make physical contact with something, they are able to read the code which is written, but the language they are exposed to is impossible for their mind to fully comprehend. Attempting to read a living creature would overwhelm the senses due to just how elaborate such an existence can be. And while non-sentient constructs can be subjected to Ether Burn, only the basic elemental concepts can actually be distinguished while the rest would come off as too confusing to understand. So if the Ether for Acid were to be examined, the only aspect that would make sense would be the rudimentary Water elemental aspect serving as the founding basis. (The Acid's Ether can still be burned, but the Ildera won't gain the knowledge of how to recreate it's code.) When performing Spatha Magei; each time an Ildera successfully burns the Ether of something, it will in turn reveal certain bits of the preexisting code that pertains to the founding element. Eventually, they can use that acquired insight and apply the coding that was learned to recreate such things. This is how an Ildera's power naturally evolves over time with gained experience. (Ex: Starting out, Dias was only capable of creating Iron and Stone weapons as that was the easiest and most common types of Metal and Earth elements, but was then gradually able to forge different kinds of metals and alloys or forms of rock and even minerals. Simply put, the reason why something like a common pistol would be impossible is due to all the different moving parts involved. Swords or Shields are just single large pieces being crafted and thus far easier to create. No matter how much experienced or training is gained, it is impossible for an Ildera to use Ether Burn to make any sort of complex weapon or object. The same is true for different kinds of chemicals like Acid or such, the concept is beyond their abilities.)
During adolescence it is quite common that anytime Ildera came into contact with a magical item or active spell, the mere act of touching them would distort the energies and nullify their enchantments. It was for this reason that the Arik Federation conscripted these gifted children into the military at a young age to train them as Anti-Magic Weapons. If maintained as an active thought, anything created from Ether can be instantly negated upon making physical contact with them. An Ildera cannot be harmed by their own creations unless they will it and they can cancel out any such effects or attacks from another Ildera making the power ultimately useless against one another. As such, routine combat training was always included for all recruits. Though Dias never had to endure this harsh training, he instead learned from his mother about how to properly manage this power which proved easier for him as he is a 3rd Generation. (Each progressive generation of Ildera will possess a greater affinity for Spatha Magei and a quicker mastery of their Ether Burn ability.)
Over the course of his life, Dias was met with one challenge after another, each experience compounding to push his abilities beyond their perceived limits as he achieved higher levels surpassing others of his kind. His mastery of Spatha Magei would have earned him the prestigious title of Magister from the Imperium, capable of conjuring and manipulating a vast number of constructs simultaneously without losing concentration, a display of mental focus that would even compete with the esteemed Magus Dominus. To deal with airborne challenges, he learned to ignite the Ether in the air around himself to generate a burst of kinetic force used as a sort of multi-directional Quick Boost/Dash or "Air Jump" allowing for superior mobility on the battlefield and fight aerial foes by literally traversing the sky. Furthermore, with but a mere thought, he can trigger a chain reaction by removing certain bits of code to cause Ether to turn unstable and violently self-destruct, even from his own creations which can easily take opponents by surprise. The intensity of said explosions depend on the amount of Ether being afflicted and the manner in which they detonate, each eruption strengthening the next.
In addition, Dias has developed certain techniques with his Ether Burn and Sword Magic which makes use of having a source of unlimited Raw Ether for him to work with, such as the Moonlight and Lost Legacy (Uruha's Isograevus). He now wields SoulLink, originally known by its true name; the Krydesa. These legendary weapons generate a consistent wave of energy, enabling him to access the full potential of his power.
"GLEIPNIR" acts as a major enhancement to bolster defensive and offensive attributes by encasing the entire body or individual parts in a suit of Ether forged armor. The GLEIPNIR can be infused with different elemental properties that grant varying advantages, though it can only possess one element's aspects at a time. Some examples include infusing the Force element to give the illusion of superhuman strength like shattering boulders with his fist or enchanting the armor with the Fire element to produce a deadly field of heat that damages or straight up burns alive opponents who linger within it too long. "VORPAL SWORD" is a technique where Dias extends the reach of his weapon by fabricating an ethereal blade with a maximum range of 150 feet. Unlike a normal strike, this incorporeal blade seems to just pass through physical matter harmlessly at first. However, what really happens is that a mark is left behind, the matter being saturated by Ether defined as Light. JUST Light. This creates a conflict of definitions as solid matter and wave particles are two distinctly different concepts. As a result, after a short momentary delay, the universe seeks to correct the error by erasing the anomalous contradictory molecules giving the illusion of Dias cleanly slicing through whatever is struck. Effectively, this attack cuts through the dimension itself, bypassing most manner of defense and dispatching anyone foolish enough not to evade the deathblow.
"ARMIGER" creates a Sphere of Influence within a 30 yard radius, surrounding Dias in a saturated field of Raw Ether, deliberately burning energy from his legendary weapon to gather a surplus of material to work with. This excess amount of energy can be used to rapidly speed up creation time as well as provide ample fuel for a number of far more powerful attacks. Anything he creates can be freely manipulated hands-free so long as they remain within the Ether sphere which will continue to move with him to remain centered around the man.
"FLASH COFFIN" is the full potential of another nefarious trick that Dias invented years ago called Stasis Sword by combining the Air, Water and Ice elemental attributes to conjure an invisible aura that instantly flash freezes anything or anyone it makes contact with. Flash Coffin works by amplifying this aura which is generated to create a mass of rapidly growing ice that begins to manifest and latch onto anything it can. The ice itself likewise serves as a catalyst for it, producing its own similar field and increasing the radius of the aura. By triggering precise explosions, mass chunks can act as fragmentation grenades which blast outward at foes. The bits that are sent flying will enable the aura to spread quicker and continue to grow, feeding on the moisture being flooded into the atmosphere by Dias or directly fueled by additional raw ether from him to dramatically boost rate of growth. The 'creeping ice' as he calls it will consume any and all sources of heat, smothering it until all life is extinguished. Meanwhile, the battlefield is quickly taken over by the ever expanding coffin which provides more defenses for Dias while simultaneously threatening to devour his foes. The aura will flash freeze any physical matter that makes contact with it, inside and out, hence the name Flash Coffin. (ARMIGER is required to be active for Flash Coffin but not for Stasis Sword. The freezing aura has a radius of several feet and has no effect on Dias who is immune to his own creations unless he deliberately intends it to.)
"EXCALIBUR" is a purely defensive technique that establishes a protective barrier utilizing the Light and Force elements. The effect works by producing a literal wall of force that absorbs and instantly reflects any and all kinetic energy directed at it. The radiant field created acts independently from Dias allowing him freedom of movement to perform other actions. It can be used to cover his weapons, a shield or even a wide space. However, such a powerful guard is not without its drawbacks. Any and all forms of energy based attacks will easily pass right through the barrier along with other elements such as Electricity, Fire, Water, etc. The Excalibur is really only effective at stopping physical attacks from solid objects by catching them and doubling their kinetic force right back into them as well as repulsing physical strikes from opponents. (The wide area version of the barrier requires ARMIGER to be active, creating the radiant field all around the outer edge of the 30 yard radius sphere. ARMIGER is not required for normal use with coating weapons or shields. The barrier remains active until dispelled by Dias. As the shield works independently without direct control by Dias, anyone skilled enough at magic could technically be capable of cancelling the spell as well.)
"ULTIMA CANNON" is the most purely destructive technique with unparalleled stopping power. By channeling each of the five primary elements into one of five rotating weapons which spin around the Krydesa, Dias pumps a steady stream of Raw Ether into the central space where all these forces combine to produce Creation Energy. The unrelenting torrent is let loose as a five foot wide beam traveling at the speed of light and outright disintegrates any physical matter that makes contact with it. The blast has even managed to annihilate a God, earning Dias his nickname. (Requires ARMIGER being active, takes 3 turns to prepare. If the process is interrupted at all then the whole task must be restarted all over again.)
"BLADE EMPEROR, FIRST VERSE" is arguably the most dangerous and awe inspiring technique Dias possesses in his arsenal, though it requires a good bit of preparation time to perform. This is because he saturates the environment with a reservoir of Raw Ether, stabbing the Krydesa into the ground to begin the injection process. (Cast Time = 5 turns) The sword MUST remain stationary with Dias maintaining his connection with it, either directly or indirectly. If at any time his connection with the sword is broken, the energy is lost and harmlessly disperses, ending the process and forcing him to start all over again. Once complete, however, the mass of Ether which has seeped into the ground, trees, buildings and all other structures within a 1,000ft perimeter ends up igniting with rays of light which then condense and become a graveyard of every sword the man has ever encountered in his life. All of them perfect replicas. 10,000 blades of different make and model littering the area, each one connected to Dias and acting as an extension of his body, responding to his every thought and movement. The Krydesa cannot be moved, serving as the central nervous system for the elaborate network and continues to pump out an ongoing flow of energy which can be used to replace any weapons which may get destroyed. (Connections can be broken or reformed between the weapons via metal wires that can be attached at any time, even at a distance so long as the primary node remains under his control. The swords created will not disperse once made due to their Metal elemental attribute.)
"BLADE EMPEROR, SECOND VERSE" follows the successful creation of Dias' vast arsenal of swords, the final stage which has never been witnessed before by anyone. For this, all the blades on the battlefield shatter into dust. The remnants are then used as a catalyst for his power to set the atmosphere ablaze, channeling the flow of Raw Ether from the Krydesa into the air and generating a massive Sphere of Influence akin to his ARMIGER (Revealed to be a much smaller scale version of Second Verse) which permeates an 800ft radius. In this phase, the Krydesa can be reclaimed, remaining as the focal point of the energy field which moves around with Dias who stays at the center of the energy mass.
(NOTE: The above list are examples for some of what Ether Burn can do while having access to an unlimited supply of energy to work with. As such, the Krydesa is required to access this level of power or some other source.)
While the environment can be tapped for a supply of Ether, its usually not a very reliable source. For example, though the air is readily available at all times, it also lacks depth and isn't very plentiful. In order to create anything substantial from it, a large amount would be required and this would in turn result in a serious loss of surrounding oxygen and thus create a vacuum space, leading to the risk of suffocation during the burning process. The ground, rocks and trees can provide ample amounts of energy, however these take time to burn depending on what is trying to be done. (Creating any decent solid object from the environment requires a "Primer" action to initiate the burning process to make Raw Ether which can either be completed in the same turn as an Action to just straight up make said object or spaced out to be completed automatically in the next post and giving the option to halt the process based on the circumstances such as needing to suddenly dodge or block.) However, snow, sand and water are much easier to burn (Instant Action) and can provide a wealth of raw material if found in abundance. (Ex: Snowfield, Dessert, a Public Pool, etc.)
Raw Ether which has been burned but not used can be witnessed by others as distorted space, like a field of static where shapes and colors within appear somewhat warped. This is merely an optical effect as nothing within said space is actually being harmed or influenced by the energy's presence. Simply put, the universe does not know how to properly render Raw Ether because it lacks any definition until an Ildera applies elemental properties to it. Objects being subjected to Ether Burn will start to illuminate, giving off a very visible white glow as defining features are removed leaving only a placeholder. (Which can likewise serve as a visual cue for opponents.)
Ether Burn requires that physical contact be maintained at all times during the process, whether directly or indirectly. An example would be like creating a field of Raw Ether. So long as Dias remains physically touching the field itself, he can impose his power and exert control over anything within the field or anything outside that still has some form of connection to the field. However, if at any time physical contact is broken, any unused Raw Ether will dissipate and vanish without a trace. (Ex: Leaving the Raw Ether field would cause it to suddenly cease existing. However, anything created using that Raw Ether will remain intact, such as starting a fire which continues to burn even without maintaining contact. The field would remain present so long as there is something maintaining physical contact between it and the user, such as another object like metal wires for instance.)
Raw Ether can also be injected into physical matter such as the ground, buildings and any other solid objects, saturating them with the energy that can allow for creations to be made at a distance so long as some manner of connection remains constant. This is also true for the body, an example being to use the right hand to create Raw Ether and then channel the energy through that arm, through the chest and to the left hand to create a weapon using the Metal element.
Ildera eyes will shift color whenever using this power, turning a vibrant, glowing crimson that depict what is referred to in Narria as the Nihilus Paradox. The condition itself is more prominently known as the "Red Eye Virus" or the "Nihilus Curse" as it can prove fatal to anyone infected by it with Ildera being the only known exceptions. Born with this mysterious decease, the Nihilus Paradox was found to be the actual source of their strange Ether Burn ability; able to harness and make use of the Counter Formula to Creation's Design.
During his hellish stay in Daemonium where he was left for dead, Dias reunited with his old friend and mentor, Lanford De'Linux, who had one final lesson to teach him. Trapped in a realm completely devoid of Ether, while on the verge of total defeat and without his sword during the fierce duel to the death against his former Captain, Dias once again spoke with the voice he had only ever heard as a child in his nightmares... The voice offered aid in exchange for submission, but Dias refused and subdued the sinister presence instead.
In doing so, he achieved a new evolution of his ability which Lanford dubbed as "SOUL BURN."
While in this state, Dias ignites the Ether of his own existence, reaching a level where he simultaneously has one foot in both doors, bridging the barrier between the material and spiritual planes. It is something Ashrum scientists have called a 'Quantum Uncertainty.' Defined by his own resolve, an entity of pure will, his body becomes the ultimate weapon tapping into an unlimited reservoir of energy. His own attributes of speed and strength are without restraint and can achieve impossible feats. However, the longer he stays in this form, the harder it becomes to revert back to normal. Upon transforming back, even if it was only for a few minutes, the amount of mental exhaustion and stress caused by Soul Burn can and will cause Dias to promptly pass out, leaving him totally vulnerable. (Recovery Time = 1 Hour per Minute spent in Soul Burn Mode)

Acquired Arts
-Ethalia Family Royal Swordsmanship
The basic and advanced form and stances which can be applied or adapted as needed for most swords. With emphasis placed on registering the footing of your opponent and picking up subtle nuances to predict attacks and respond accordingly, as well as proper breathing control and positioning. This was Dias' first introduction to swordsmanship which gave him a firm foundation that was gradually built up and developed over time. Daily exercise routines ingrain these movements into muscle memory so that reactions and strikes are performed as if second nature.
-Master Florentine
The art of dual wielding, Dias spent years perfecting the skill to master the handling of blades with equal or differing weight and length in either hand without suffering combat effectiveness. Over time he trained to be ambidextrous and increase eye-hand coordination, allowing him to fight multiple opponents from different angles around himself while managing to keep track of every opponent's action and placement on the battlefield. He often applies this discipline to work in tandem with a metal scabbard or saya, serving for both offense and defense.
-Fast Draw
Similar to the practice and techniques found in Iaijutsu, Dias invented this style to work with swords from other cultures. When weapons are sheathed, they can still be used as effective weapons, presenting a wide range of applications.
-Military Training
Dias has served in many wars as an enlisted soldier for different countries across the vast Omniverse. Each of those experiences have gradually combined into a single cohesive set of skills from formal hand-to-hand combat, knife fighting, marksmanship, extensive firearms training and basic survival techniques for out in the wild over extended periods of time. He also acquired rudimentary experience with the use of various martial weapons such as axes, staves, spears, shields, etc. which formed the foundation of his overall versatility in combat.
-Iaijutsu
The art of drawing the sword, it is an ancient martial art that focuses on how to utilize the potential of a sword while it is sheathed and at rest in the neutral state. This trains reflexes to respond instantly and deploy the weapon for either offense or defense while minimizing wasteful movement. A single strike can mean the difference between life or death, decided in but a moment...
-Mujushin Kenjutsu (Sword of No Abiding Mind)
Taking the battle between two opponents, detaching yourself from the situation and viewing the field from an outside perspective. This style transforms a fight into a game of mental chess and slowing the world around you to a near halt, placing more emphasis on honing the mind to make it as sharp as a razor's edge. Tapping into the full potential of all mental faculties, each action is carefully calculated as the opponent's every subtle detail and movement is registered and scrutinized. One can watch as a bolt of lightning sparks in the atmosphere and slowly reaches down from the clouds to the ground below. Training involves meditation to practice expanding one's awareness and breaking free of the mortal coil to tap into the astral plane of existence, accessing the metaphysical realm to achieve a higher level of focus. Training while in this transcended state, one can design and run through a series of hypothetical scenarios with difficult challenges that one must then work through to overcome. Whether facing off against the memory of past adversaries or real battlefield situations with staggering high odds.
-Shinmei Ryu Kenjutsu (God's Cry - School of the Divinity Blade)
An ancient style of Kenjutsu known to a select few. With its history tied to that of Onmyodo, the God's Cry focuses on training the soul and channeling one's will, infusing physical strikes so as to fight against incorporeal adversaries and learning to harness Qi energy as a powerful, versatile weapon. It was originally developed by ancient swordsmen of the past as a means to deal with the demonic spirits and other such malevolent forces which plagued the lands as a result of countless battles and death.
"Zanmaken" is a technique which infuses any held weapon or object with the warrior's willpower that is lethal to spiritual or metaphysical entities it makes contact with, eradicating it and dispersing its conscious awareness. Meanwhile, the Zanmaken Ni-no-Tachi projects that power outward in order to harmlessly pass through possessed victims or those having their minds being controlled to sever said connections and purging the foreign influence from the body to free them of such effects.
"Zanganken" channels Qi into any held weapon or object, giving one tremendous cutting power to slice cleanly through any physical matter it makes contact with, instantly cutting the molecules apart with surgical precision. The Zanganken Ni-no-Tachi can likewise manifest the energy beyond the blade like a projectile, extending the reach to strike at distant foes with the same level of lethal effectiveness. However, this technique is rendered useless against any magical barriers or will based defenses. Ideal for situations when an enemy has taken a hostage as the ranged version of this technique can harmlessly bypass obstacles and hit the intended target.
"Raimeiken" is a close range attack which surges Qi into any held weapon or object and then releases the energy in a directed explosive burst to cause impact damage. The powerful blow sounds like a thunderclap, shattering nearby glass within the surrounding area and packing enough raw destructive force to easily punch through an inch thick plate of Titanium or crushing the ground to form a sizable crater. The Raimeiken Ni-no-Tachi can likewise allow the charged energy to be thrown and remote detonated at a distance, dishing out the same degree of damage to anything within a 5 foot radius of itself. An even stronger version, the Kyokudai Raimeiken, can unleash a devastating blast at close range that can compress solids into literal pancakes, 5x more powerful than its weaker form. However, it requires remaining stationary and to use both hands.
"Zantetsusen" is a counter technique that only works against incoming physical attacks, releasing a spiral wave of Qi that latches onto the target and violently redirects whatever kinetic energy was being applied back into the attack itself, the backlash delivering double the force. Assuming projectiles don't simply shatter instantly, they are sent flying back at twice the velocity. Countered melee attacks will have the same result of dramatically increasing the reversed kinetic energy, the recoil proving enough to twist a person's arm to the point of muscles and ligaments being torn apart, bones dislocating or snapping, totally rendering the limb(s) useless if not straight ripped off the body at the joint. The more kinetic energy and strength used by the opponent will drastically increase the power of the counterattack. (NOTE: Does not work against energy based attacks. The level of damage inflicted is dependent on the amount of force/strength used by the opponent which is doubled upon being redirected. Can also be used to knock back or destroy large objects being thrown.)
"Hyakuretsu Okazan" is a powerful melee technique that exerts Qi into the surrounding atmosphere creating the appearance of ten arms wielding a duplicate version of whatever weapon(s) or object(s) are being held. The mere sight alone is enough to strike even the most hardened warrior with fear, offering superior offense and defense as each limb seemingly has full independent movement. The only drawback is that the user must remain stationary due to the concentration needed. (NOTE: Can be used in conjunction with other Shinmei Ryu techniques.)
"Raikoken" is a non-lethal technique to disarm an opponent. Manipulating the flow of Qi outside the body, any held weapon or object can be given an electrical charge. In the event the adversary blocks this strike, upon making contact the energy will then discharge and further direct through said item whether it be a weapon, shield or even armor and deliver a high voltage shock into the central nervous system. The resulting jolt will leave the target feeling temporarily numb but also cause violent muscle convulsions forcing them to unwillingly drop whatever held item was struck. The Shin Raikoken is far greater in scale, generating visible arcs of electricity in the atmosphere. Whether blocking the attack or even being nicked by it will send a powerful surge into the target's body strong enough to cause temporary full paralysis.
"Zankusen" is a non-lethal technique that generates a mighty gust of wind that can swiftly sweep through an area. Resonating the flow of Qi through any held weapon or object, the swirling energy rapidly builds up a vortex that when released produces a wide burst of air, ideal for clearing away smoke, mist, dust, etc. Zankusen Kai, a stronger variation of this technique, releases the swirling energy outward either as a narrow directed blast to knock down a target with tremendous air pressure or as a furious tornado that gradually increases intensity and can lift things up off the ground such as enemies, vehicles, etc. (NOTE: Depending on how long it is charged before being released. 1 post charge can lift a person or any other medium size creature. 2 post charge can lift a vehicle; cars, trucks, tanks, etc.)
"Messatsu Zanku Zanmasen" is a dangerous technique that generates a wide area burst of Qi which shatters the atmosphere, trapping a target within a void. The afflicted, cone-shaped zone 50 foot wide extending outward from the user has all the air pushed out with multiple uses of the attack sustaining this effect, similar to being abruptly cast into the vacuum of space itself. Unless the target was able to exhale before getting caught by the wave, their eardrums would rupture causing hearing loss and the gas inside the lungs would expand and then implode. Assuming they avoided such a fate and or were somehow still alive, after about several seconds the brain would begin to shutdown from a lack of oxygen.
"Shiten Kekkai Dokko Rengaku" is a defensive technique which makes use of four weapons or objects charged with Qi to act as focal points and establish a sustained barrier. The protective field remains impenetrable so long as concentration is maintained, making it impossible to move even an inch so to to avoid losing control. The shield itself is a projection of the user's own will. Of course, there are limits to such as even Masters can only maintain this for roughly an hour due to the kind of strain. Repeated attacks upon the barrier will drastically shorten that time, only being able to withstand 10 seconds worth of continuous beating. (NOTE: Typically only good for blocking a single powerful attack or surviving deadly Area of Effect strikes.)
"Inatsurubi No Katama" a specialized technique designed to capture targets within a bounded field. Using either weapons or any object charged with Qi to act as anchor points, a designated containment zone is established. At any point, the charged anchors can be activated, trapping anything or anyone inside the suspended field, including metaphysical entities. Even a God could be restrained by such a skill, though it won't last long. A few moments at best, so long as the user remains perfectly still and doesn't lose focus. This would give allies an opportunity to launch ranged attacks or magical spells at the prisoner who would be unable to dodge, counter or block while trapped in such a state as anything can enter the field but can't exit while active. (NOTE: 8 Points must be established for this to work, giving the connected outline of a cube or rectangle in shape.)
(NOTE: Techniques that can be used as Ranged Attacks have a maximum reach of 100 feet. Due to the nature of Qi Energy, most of these attacks don't offer any visual cues and as such can be very difficult to anticipate. For anyone who lacks the ability to detect or observe metaphysical energies, it would be literally impossible to see these attacks coming, completely invisible to the naked eye. All techniques utilizing Qi are treated as Will based, deriving from the user's own willpower.)
-Aikijutsu
A martial art which teaches one to use their opponent's strength against them. Contains the stances and techniques to not only disarm enemies but also deliver lethal counters to end a fight instantly with but a single strike.
-Aikido
Similar to Aikijutsu, Aikido revolves around peaceful resolution to conflict, manipulating the force of an adversary to safely disarm them without causing serious injury.
-Shaolin Wushu
A form of Kung Fu that is straight forward and to the point. It teaches to harness internal instinct as a weapon, controlling the release and channeling of primal fury and emotion. Every motion flows into another, bombarding an opponent's senses as you strike every opening and dismantle a foe with lethal precision and tenacity. The body maintains a firm yet flexible state, muscles relaxed rather than tense to allow for swift attacks and drastically reduced reaction times.
-Damaru Chikara (Silent Power)
A type of martial art invented by Dias' mentor and Squad Captain, Lanford De'Linux. A mix of advanced Biofeedback techniques, Tai Chi and the practice of Qigong, the central focus of Damaru Chikara is in mastering the self and how to access one's Aura. The radiant metaphysical energy field which surrounds the body at all times, our Aura is an outward expression of our emotions being filtered and experienced by the world around us. Animals are born with a high level of sensitivity to the emotional wavelengths of others, a characteristic Humans gradually lost touch with but that is still apart of their physiology. It is an excess amount of energy which sentient creatures produce naturally, generated from our feelings. Lanford discovered a direct correlation between one's Aura and the level of Qi present in the body, the two seeming to work together in tandem. Emotions on their own are a source of tremendous power. The former Captain of the Tyril Kingdom's Azure Knights created Damaru Chikara to not only expand his own knowledge and learn to identify it but also to harness such untapped potential and freely manipulate it for a host of different uses.
-Blade Rush
An imperfect version of Captain Lanford's Strike Rush, developed by Dias earlier in his career not long after becoming the older man's apprentice. However, he lacked the experience and sufficient training at the time to make it effective enough or comparable to his former teacher's technique and as such ended up abandoning the idea. However, after the time spent in Daemonium, Dias had gained the required insight after using 'Soul Burn' for the first time and decided to make another attempt. With a few months worth of practice, he finally succeeded in making actual progress with it. Similar in concept to the advanced Biofeedback techniques associated with Damaru Chikara, the principle ideology of Mind Over Matter is applied to the self. Through sheer force of will, the physical body transitions into a semi-metaphysical state, temporarily converting matter into a semi-physical and energy state so as to exceed material limitations. This enables Dias to perform feats of speed that surpass comprehension, such as being able to draw his sword and attack while then sheathing the weapon all without seemingly moving a muscle, out pacing a projectile fired at near point blank range to easily dodge it or actively swiping each individual drop of rain within striking distance during a storm to keep the ground dry all around him. The only visual cue witnessed is a blur of movement which becomes easier to recognize the longer he uses it. This skill can also be used in conjunction with his other techniques associated with Damaru Chikara, Shinmei Ryu and Mujushin Kenjutsu for a very deadly combination...
However, the technique is still a rough version which serves as an imitation of his mentor's and as such is still seriously lacking in the same level of effectiveness. While using Strike Rush, Lanford could actively sustain moving at such speed over distances while performing attacks simultaneously. Dias on the other hand has to choose between either performing quick movements or focus on attacking without being able to move the rest of his body. Likewise, since he is just dramatically boosting his own speed, he can't pass through solid objects which would still serve as obstacles. And due to the high level of focus required, he is unable to make use of his Ether Burn while Blade Rush is active.
When entering this state, Dias' body exerts a vibrant radiance that appears somewhat distorted at times. A visual cue is given whenever he is making an action; the surge of energy easily witnessed by others. The power can also be gathered into a single limb to generate massive amounts of kinetic force that can then be unleashed for a variety of uses like when there isn't a solid surface to move around on.
